Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder

Driven by the issue of the NEA’s attempt to marshall artists help in promoting the President’s agenda, there has been a lot of discussion in the comment threads here at POWIP centered around what constitutes fine art.  This piece by David Bugnon seems to qualify, at least in my view.  It’s topical, centered around an attractive subject, and pleasant to look at; it speaks troooooof! to pow-ah alright.  But somehow, I doubt that the artist will be recieving any NEA grants money for this work…
