Congratulations Mr. President on a job well done.

POWIP P11E

Many of our more contrarian commenters here at POWIP may be surprised by this post’s lede, as well as those who generally agree with my theses.  But as I have said since his election, Mr. Obama is our President, and I will support him when he’s right and oppose him when he’s not; I will be the personification of the term, “The Loyal Opposition.”

Well I’d like to take this moment to congratulate the President for making a decision to put the safety of our nation first, instead of internationalism.  Just as when he ordered the engagement of the Somali pirate kidnappers in April, Mr. Obama has again sent our special operations teams into action to protect our nation.  Earlier today the best of the best, our US Navy SEALs, successfully concluded operation Celestial Balance; an operation tasked to capture/kill Saleh Ali Nabhan.  Ten days ago President Obama signed off on the operation to take Nabhan, who was involved in many attacks on us and our allies since 1998 as well as residing on the FBI’s most wanted list since 2006.

This took stones on the part if the President, especially considering the pressure he’s under from the far left over Afghanistan and the War on Terror in general.  I tend to agree with Fouad Ajami that it is morally false and intellectually muddled to differentiate between Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as the rest of the WOT, as being “good” or “bad” wars; they are all part of stemming radical Islamic extremism, a clear and present danger to our nation.  And it’s pathetic how some on the left are blowing the retreat bugle just like they did in Iraq.  But perhaps worse are those on the right who supported the endeavor while Bush was POTUS, but now that Obama is Commander-in-Chief are suddenly squeamish.

Let me be crystal clear, I am behind Obama, Petraeus, and the entire command structure in Afghanistan, all the way down to each boot on the ground.  And to the President I say, while those on your own side, Pelosi et al, will resist your efforts to do what it takes to win the war, much like Bush joined with Democrats on some of his legislation, so too should you rely on the Republicans for support of your war needs and measures.  I agree wholeheartedly with Messrs. McCain, Graham, and Lieberman that, “Only decisive force can prevail in Afghanistan”.  Just as in Iraq, we need to go all the way to ensure victory and greater security for our nation.

So I’ll close by saluting my Navy brethren with a hearty, HOOYAH!, for a job well done, and the same to President Obama…

That’s aluminum cloud, Mr. Moneychanger…And there are no penii swaying near my noggin.

I was merely showing you the folly of repeating mouth-breathing, MSM-repeating, morally bereft inspired, Democrat talking points…

If I’m a Teabagger, and you are instead one’s complement, then that would number you among the Teabagees. You know, the ones being Teabagged..?

Also, SEALs average about a year of college.

Whoa now, that’s two full semesters more than the average angry white tea-bagger!

Seems the Seals have fallen from heralded Rhodes Scholars to Juco flunkies in just a few posts.

Hey, Bob, read my nick. I started out on POWIP with a lowly buttfuck joke, OK, lamebone. Don’t cling to it, move on.

Three serving as of 2004. Not at liberty to disclose their names.

I should have said average SEAL enlisted average about a year of college. All commissioned officers are college educated and that is, of course, a minimum standard.

Yeah, right. The cult of personality over sound economics. I keep forgeting which Navy Obama served in. Was it Kerry’s?

You mean the same sort of sound economics that enabled AIG and Lehman to be the epicenter of the worldwide banking crisis?

Tell me, genius, how many millions of Americans do you suspect would have lost their jobs had our banking system and auto industry collapsed under the weight of Bushonomics 2.0?

Isn’t that but one of the major problems in America, namely, that you fuckin’ Republican morons haven’t a idiot’s clue about economics and capitalism?

Must have missed all that stuff. I guess was too busy watching ACORN bullying banks to offer bad loans and watching Chris Dodd and Barney Franks give away the store.

Dodd and Franks, were they Republicans?

Is Fannie Mae run by the government? Thought not, just supervised by Dodd and Franks.

Screw with basic economics such as giving mortgages that are unsound, and yes, the quick studies will figure out how to exploit it. Unsound mortgages were something made into law by Congress.

Thanks for coming by Gray Kapok. Visit from time to time, we’ll be covering national security issues as they unfold as well as progress in Afghanistan…

And as for edge, he’s one of our more strident commenters; one who goes on about objectivity and non-partisanship, but is among the first to wail about “Rethugs!” And for some reason he is blind to the role of CRA and Fannie/Freddie in the mortgage meltdown.

I’m still waiting for you to write something on economics for us. Show your chops, mail it to Dan, pretend it’s one of your MFA research papers, and provide some citations; be a man, edge!

First rule is I don’t take requests.

Secondly I write what I like to write and compositions outlining the basics of economics written for the benefit of conspiracy-addicted toadies isn’t what I enjoy writing. Warren Buffet was in CNBC this morning and he’s as good as any if you want a homespun easy-to-understand synopsis. Oh sorry, almost forgot, he voted for Obama so he’s an Evooool man!

Thirdly, you’ve tried three times to illuminate what a tea-baggee is. I get it. I assumed it didn’t require a response. I fist. See my name. You bend and take. Arf!

You know I’m not talking about basics. I’m talking about using your knowledge of economics and skill as a writer! Integrate both, and explain the Obama reforms that he put forth on Monday; tell us how they will benefit the free market, the individual investor, the financial sector, and the overall economy…

And a few links to back up that of what you speak…

And I never took your name to apply to me, as I don’t consider a refined gentleman like myself a hick….

I’ll go him one better. I’ll ignore him completely.

Evidently he gets his kicks hanging out in miltary-focussed forums, where he can run up to the big guys and yell “NYAHH” – something he would never consider doing in person.

He wrote “Warren Buffet was in CNBC…” He was in it, really?
Most of the other guests are on it, but what do they know.

    See ya. Not.

  13. Im a God fearing conservative and an air force veteran. My question to you is, will you still support this man when he gives the order to knock on every door in america and take away the folks guns and strip them of their rights to self defense? or what about when he declares christianity is illegal and has people put in jail for being loyal to God and only God? When these things are clearly violations of the US Constitution, that you swore to protect and defend against ALL enemies, BOTH foriegn and domestic? What then?

Under those circumstances you lay out, Adam, of course not. I too took that oath to protect and defend the US Constitution, but would resist that scenarios you paint with all my force and ability; because they would be contrary to that same US Constitution. And in doing so I would be true to my oath and my beloved country…

And I assure you that many Americans would do the same…

God will protect us and our country from such travails…

    Best Wishes

I, of course, await my instructions. Who knows when the email will come, maybe tomorrow, tonight, within the hour, or in the next few moments.

The man I endorse has calculated plans to end all conflict with force. Upon instruction I will journey from downtown to the address provided me, to a rural hamlet, a backwoods abode, or wherever the GPS coordinates guide me.

I shall not pry fingers but separate arms from sockets, as instructed, and shall utilize these limbs to inflict further pain and suffering upon the freshly disabled targets of rural habitat.

Having succored all appendages of bitter cling utility, I will, as instructed, retrieve the liquid nitrogen allotted me. One by one, my victim’s Bibles, guns and bullets shall be dipped, petrified and then shattered into tens of thousands of shiny frozen pieces of uselessness.

Pssst, please don’t tell anyone. It’s a secret.

    edge,
Before you go all looney-zooming on me, I was merely responding to a hypothetical question posed me…

There are those in our country that are concerned about their second amendment rights being usurped, whether immediately or overnight…

The same is true for many Christians, who feel under fire by a secular society that seems increasingly unfriendly, foreign, and alienating…

Different people fear many different circumstances arising; do you criticize them all? Obama repudiates many of the tradional values and expectations of a signifigant portion of our nation; not everyone who voted for him was down with transforming America into a more socialist society. And in some ways, to conservatives especially, he seems to be more intent on apologizing for our nation, tearing it down, and redefining it’s fundamental tenets from “equality of opportunity” and “the rights of the government coming from the people”, into, “equality of outcome” and “the rights of the people being bestowed on them by the government”…

David Brooks would like to characterize it as a struggle of the “Hamiltonians” vs. “Jeffersonians”, or urban vs. rural…

I think that’s a mistake, it’s more like “Marxist” vs. “Jeffersonian”, collectivists vs. individualists…
