Today I got the word that Obama managed to sneak through a provision giving only union labor the right to work on his shovel-ready projects. I’m not even going to talk about the abuse of TARP or of Spendulus. I’m just going to note the contradiction involved in such a maneuver when you claim you’re dedicated to giving the taxpayer the most bang for the buck.
It’s become increasingly clear that for the present administration the actual pretext isn’t really terribly important. What is important is transferring as much wealth as possible to those whom Obama deems political allies. As usual, he has no appreciation of the instability of such an arrangement. Unintended consequences are inconceivable to narcissistic idealogues.
Somewhat related–but only somewhat–is this sad story of a young woman’s death by misidealism.
And on the absolute moral authority front, I give you Charles Rangel.

I would say it’s unbelievable, but sadly it’s not.
They made this “Union Only” provision clear at the time the original spendulus was passed. But, the media was so agog over Obama, and folks like Chris “Tingle” Matthews so dedicated to “making his presidencey work”, and dedicated to Democrat institutions and constituencies like “Big Labor”, as usual, that they were unwilling to report any inconvenient truths that might cause public opinion to flag even a scintilla…
But, you know, Scott Rasmussen reported on how well that’s working out yesterday!
Buy you’re right. Obama’s not interested in serving all Americans, but simply in rewarding his cronies and loyal supporters…
It’s the Chicago way, simply writ large!
The Democrat culture of corruption rolls on.
