The behavior of our government has been shameful. Yesterday, John Kerry demanded that the Library of Congress remand a report which stated that Honduras’s courts and assembly had acted lawfully in removing the wannabe Chavez, Manuel Zelaya. Not because it was inaccurate—nobody has advanced a theory under which it can plausibly be said to be so—but because it is inconvenient.
Sickening.

This is a dark day for our nation, when we supported the return of a wanna-be dictator who was removed from office legally, in accordance with the Honduran constitution, and in essence used our financial aid as a cudgel with which to beat them until they acquiesced to the demands of our Chavez loving President…
B-B-But, I thought we weren’t willing to meddle in the affairs of other nations…
Only, it seems, if meddling can benefit the worldwide statist agenda, prop up one of America’s enemies, or advance his buddy Chavez’s regional agenda…
And while this entire episode is outrageous, and has drained the last shred of respect I had for the President, I’m more disgusted that John “Lurch” Kerry would call for a legitimate finding on the issue to disappear down the memory hole-simply because it was an inconvenient truth…
Proving once again that, as with the Stalinists, the Democrats show their willingness to change the record of the past to suit their political needs in the present…

Shameful is right. Honduras had the situation legally and constitutionally under control. I don’t see the administration taking any steps to restore the constitutional order in Nicaragua.
It is interesting to read what Kerry said about Zelaya on his own website:
“a push to rewrite the constitution over the objections of Honduras’s top court, legislature, attorney general, and military is deeply disturbing.”
Ultimately, it is up to the Honduran people to resist the forces of Chavez.

I wonder why is it so hard for you all not to go off on El Salvador and the FMLN for winning in March, is it by chance the uncomfortable recognition that the left has grown alone without “chavezismo” and the right uses him as a boogey man to scare peeps away from the realization that izquierdismo comes from within any given countries discontent?
