    I just read Stegner’s *Angle of Repose* in one of my lit classes, and part of our discussion revolved around what the title meant. It’s probably more familiar to science and technology types, but if I understand it correctly, it’s related to the equilibrium between stability and the moment when things start sliding downhill.

    This week, with the Fort Hood atrocity, the FBI’s response, the MSM’s non-response, and now the Health Care Bill and all of its concomitant bullshit–I have felt the angle shift to free fall.

    The condition of our country cries out for wise and active leadership. And we are given an empty suit on one side of the aisle and efette conservatism on the other side.

    It’s just overwhelmingly depressing.

    So, because I am not by nature morose, I have decided to dictate all such moments as the present one and, no doubt, those in the future will be:

    JUNIOR BROWN MOMENTS
