Thank you, Mr. Reed for your service. And I wish that your brethen also enjoy a peace filled day.

When I was young enough to serve, I was too self-absorbed to consider it. And by the time I had matured enough to realize what it really meant, I was too old to serve. I am thankful every day that others saw better.

Heartwarming to receive the accolades, especially from those of us who endured the shitstorm during and after the Vietnam War.

I wore the uniform with PRIDE, yet when I see these young men and women serving today, I feel humbled.

It’d be an honor beyond measure to wear it again with them.

  5. Cowboy says:

Thanks, Bob, and irongrampa. My heartfelt thanks to all of you who served, and to those who cared for them while they were active and later as they age.

  6. Bob Reed says:

Thanks for the good wishes Cowboy; especially for the caregivers-a too often overlooked contingent!

My two oldest nieces served. The younger was a medic in Fallujah – fortunately for her, after the worst of it. Both are home safe after honorably serving.

Once again, great praise for the men AND women of our armed forces.

  8. Horace Mitchell says:

Honor our veterans because many, such as Obama’s grandfather, didn’t get the respect they deserved when returned home.

    To the fallen.

    To the wounded.

    To the forgotten heroes.

And to those who continue to fight for the real America.

    Peace.
