You can buy tobacco seeds and save them from the plants you grow for the next year. It grows like a weed and is quite a beautiful plant with really cool flowers. Easy enough to dry and process. And if it all come apart at the seams, tobacco is a great barter good.

I wonder if the government is going to end all of the subsidies to tobacco farmers?

That’s funny, Tom, as I was just visiting tobacco growing websites.

Larry Niven often liked to drop in his “near future” novels that marijuana is legal and openly smoked, but that tobacco is contraband [which is noted right before main characters light up a hand-rolled tobacco cigarette, and only half the time is sex involved.]

I always chalked that up to Niven being a Californian, but I guess he could see which way the smoke was blowing.

also – fuck the feds. just fuck them – they dont give a shit about the private sector – all they care about is stimulus for their own fucking wallets – they create nothing. they benefit from everything. not one bureaucrat knows what it is like to actually create jobs, work an honest day, or lose their savings and jobs if they cannot compete.

Obama has never managed anything in his life. A career fucking blood-sucker. The world is his oyster!

I can’t imagine the size of the brick Ben Franklin would shit were he alive to see this law passed. This march toward serfdom will have consequences. It’s stunning to think that the pols and assorted techno-crats can’t see this.

I didn’t know this place existed, and I’m actually from Uniontown! The town has exploded over the past few years with every imaginable business you can think of landing around the Uniontown Mall.
i must admit, if you look at this country now as compared to just 50 years ago… it’s going downhill… and fast. Removing rights left and right, and generating laws to make it so much harder for the little guy to succeed. Shame.
