I read something like this, and I think, it’s a good thing this guy’s not a righty blogger:
Those other athletes had one of the world’s most supportive casts. They had an overwhelming number of folks in the African-American community standing firmly and loudly behind them — no matter what. They had Jesse and Al waiting to pounce in the background, if they hadn’t done so already. They had black ministers across the country asking for special prayers in their name. They had folks in barbershops throughout African-American communities talking about conspiracies.
Mostly, despite everything those in black America had seen or heard about the events surrounding O.J., Vick, Iverson and the rest, they had unconditional love.
For Woods, not so much.
Actually, not at all, and Woods has nobody to blame but Woods.
It goes back to April 1997 when he famously took a nine-iron to the face of blacks by telling Oprah Winfrey on her couch that he wasn’t black. He said he wasn’t white, either. He said, given that his father is black and that his mother is Asian, he spent his youth inventing a word for himself called “Cablinasian.”
Just like that, in the hearts of many African-Americans, Woods was on his own.
So, the lesson here is pick a gang and stick with it. You need protection, Oreo.

Explain the header, Where’s Holder?
Eric Holder’s name isn’t mentioned in the body of the thread. Oh wait, to you he’s simply another angry black man and not a highly educated legal mind who is the United States – that United part, puff it, homey yo – Attorney General.
At least I’m asking you to explain your words and not performing the old rhetorical hand trick of dressing others in words they don’t own.
Many blacks see their struggle against racist America and racism in America as a unified struggle. I have no problem with that unless it’s taken to an extreme that I’m uncomfortable with, and that level exists in a I know it when I see realm.
Michael Vick, two TD’s last week. Every time Vick scores a touchdown a baby bulldog bares his teeth in heaven.
I just want my brave conversation on race, man.
Braveheart, I’m feeling ya.
Uh, how do you know what most blacks think, whitey..?
Let me guess, you have a black friend, right..?
You’re such a racist; you still see people existence only as a function of color. When are you going to reach the enlightebed level of complete color blinded-ness; to see folks for who they are as opposed to what they look like..?
C’mon mange, come with me; I’ll lead you there…
I’ll be your Bodhisattva…
I read books that black intellectuals write, watch ‘em on TV and I listen to my black friends when they speak to me. I like Tavis Smiley, he has a radio show and his guests often speak of issues in the black community.
Let me guess, you don’t have any black friends nor do you listen to or read their words, you simply blabble-cluck at people about the world as you see it. Money shot.
You can be my toilet, whitey.
Tavis Smiley?!? *snort* There’s a real intellectual powerhouse there…
I needn’t catalogue any of the folks I know now, or have known over the years. I was in the Navy, a rather diverse organization, maybe you reacall..?
But as I mentioned, I don’t tend to put people into pigeon-hole catagories based on their race: it’s a shame you can’t see fit to do the same thing, like most real Americans do these days.
I offered to be your guide; but I guess you don’t want enlightenment, only to sling the accusation of racism around.
It’s a shame really.
Tavis Smiley sounds like the President of MENSA when compared to you, ya illiterate fool.
No, really.
Affirmative action, PBS style…
Of course you’d go to the mat for that agitator…
see it
He would have picked a race if his oreo ass ever ended up in prison.
[...] believe that this wouldn’t be such a big deal if it were not for the fact that he’s a Cablinasian. Americans have little understanding or tolerance for the Cablinasians in their midst, instead [...]
As a half-white, half-asian person, I sympathize with Tiger. Perhaps others who identify with race – and expect their identification to be reciprocated – that’s a form of betrayal.
But it wasn’t whites or Filipinos who were wondering aloud if Obama was “black enough” to run.
In fact, Tiger is more realistic, more aware and more honest than Obama. What makes Obama black, but the insistence on miscegeny? It does no good to say that racists out there will attack him. What he is, he is, irrelevant of whether someone else is a racist. And he is someone who didn’t have the courage to refuse to choose.
Carin’s comment only reinforces the problem. You see, had Tiger been forced to choose by barbarians and those who live by force instead of reason and law, he would have chosen. But what does that mean, other than “we can make you stoop to our level?”
Congratulations, cannibal.
Oreo? Seriously? Does Carin – who is clearly complaining about other people’s racism – suppose that his blood is somehow “pure?”
Nice. Like the devil, unwilling to sink to hell without dragging a living part of heaven with you.
What shocking, pathetic pile of ignorance that is. What can one mean by pure? The Germans were smart folk; but watch them fumble over it. Does anyone not believe that Africans have mixed with Arabs and Semitic people (who themselves had ancestors in the Etruscan world), that Berbers are not a genetic highway between Europeans and North Africans?
Is anyone really so misinformed as to believe races are not merely incompetent constructs, bad zoology?
Tiger is no saint, but at least he’s willing to be just a man. Too many people want to keep a hold of their miscegeny – whether it’s as a shield or a sword – and reserve the right to call one another racist.
Race is a pre-literate, stupid, ignorant, fabricated concept with no scientific validity. That so many people choose to retain it is their own sign of failure, of intellectual and moral weakness. Malcolm X saw that. Which is probably partly why they killed him.
Holder said that Americans were cowards for being unwilling to discuss race. Clearly, it is Holder and those like him who are the cowards, because they are unwilling to accept anything but servility to their primitive, backwards, pre-modern understanding of race and genetics as possible or legitimate. All they want is for you to accept their unenlightened nonsense, their status quo of hate, rage, anger and victimhood. It is Holder who drips with cowardice.
Amen, Amos!
Tiger Power!
Everyone forgets the man won the U.S. Open on one leg. I’ve always liked Tiger Woods. He’ll zip up his pants and be back, he may have blue balls when he comes back but remember what the man could do with one damn leg.
Besides, if his Nordic princess leaves him he can fill his 155-foot yacht up with a 100 more. Tons of chicks would rip off their tits just to shag El Tigre’s balls.
You seemed to miss the point of Amos’ entire comment…
He’s denouncing the kind of slobbering race consciousness that you wallow in, Mr. “I’m soooooo down with Tavis Smiley and the struggle!”, and the true racial cowardice that people like Holder and Obama practice, and contrasting them to the color blind way that Tiger Woods conducts his life.
But instead, you need to make some comment about Tiger’s material possessions, sporting ability, and of course throw in something demeaning about women…
For all of the negative press he’s recieved lately, I’ve always admired Tiger, not only for his athlestic skills, but for the way he conducts his life; in a way that represents the color-blindedness that Dr. King spoke about and the America should be all about.
Couldn’t agree with you more, especially your assertion that “race” is an artificial construct, but do consider that Carin’s snark was meant to compare submission to the established categories to making a prison gang choice.
