Eric Massa’s Resignation [UPDATE]
Over the weekend, Massa claimed that he was railroaded for having opposed Cap & Trade and Health Care Reform, to make it possible for the Democrats to ram the legislation through. He reiterated the point that Hoyer never once approached him on the subject before leaking the allegations to the press. JWF has the story, including Massa's account of the incident that sent him to the showers. Compared to some of the antics of the Lion of the Senate, this is pretty innocuous behavior.
The former Deputy Chief of Staff who brought the incident to Hoyer's attention is a fellow by the name of Ron Hikel, according to that piece. It appears that Ron Hikel has landed on his feet:
Ron Hikel
Title
Legislative Director at US Congress
Demographic info
Government Administration | Washington D.C. Metro AreaCurrent:
Legislative Ditrector at US Congress
Now, I don't know what the Legislative Director to the US Congress does, but it sounds a little more important and probably lucrative than Deputy COS to a first-term Representative. Still, you can't possibly be serious if you think this lot would trade a judgeship for a vote.
William Jacobson is urging people to encourage Massa not to resign.
UPDATE: As Pablo points out in comments, that's his official designation in Massa's office, though it will be interesting to see where he ends up. Maybe with Podesta.

Podesta’s joint is a likely landing spot, but then if Hikel’s already outlived his usefulness, he could wind up in the Potomac.

Massa seems like he has some issues to deal with, but the visual image of him and Rahm going at it naked in the Senate shower is one I could have done without. Although the em-bar[e]-ass-ment to the White House certainly has some Schadenfreud value to it.
