Little Miss Attila Referred to FBI by Son of Cult Leader
Have you ever felt threatened by Joy McCann? I mean, I'd rather not be on her shit list, but not because I'm afraid that she'll come and blow my head off. The instances of Miss Attila actually blowing people's heads off because she disagrees with them are, to my knowledge, vanishingly few. I'd rather not be on her shit list because of her razor tongue and wit; she might bite my head off, if I wrote something sufficiently stupid.
Nevertheless, this young man is deeply concerned about her internet activities, exposing the cultish behaviors of the man who leads the "church" in question, to which she belonged as an impressionable teen back in the Seventies. He feels that he has standing because his name is the same as his father's (except with that III on the end).
It seems that his dad makes a habit of denouncing others (i.e., those who share different opinions from his) as false prophets, but that he is to be spared reciprocal denunciations online. Despite what the PC brigades would have you believe, the perception of a threat, or the trumped up perception of a threat, does not necessarily equal a threat. Apparently, in the DoJ's eyes, neither does brandishing a nightstick and spewing racial epithets at voters in Philadelphia, but that is another matter. It is Joy's position that the preacher is engaged in programmatic psychological abuse of youngsters, that he has committed and continues to commit. And now, as happens with other cults such as Scientology, Leslie the Younger wishes to instrumentalize the threat of lawsuits and FBI surveillance in order to shut her up.
I'll tell you what, Leslie: why don't you bring a suit for libel, and we'll sort this all out?
Bob Belvedere and Stacy McCain give us the background.
UPDATE: This is probably a good place to plug Tom Mannis' bleg at Chicago News Bench.

What she is describng is horrific and disturbing. I am sorry she had to go through that, but glad she survived it. The lesson is clear: Run don’t walk if you ever experience anything like this.
