Oh, and in case there was any doubt
AG Holder has shown his true color, so to speak. Because, while the NBPP voter intimidation case isn't worthy of pursuing, even though the motivation's were "hate driven", in the parlance of the progressives, and the case was airtight, the shooting by the L.A. policeman most certainly is !
"The Civil Rights Division, the U.S. Attorney's Office, and the FBI have an open investigation into the fatal shooting and, at the conclusion of the state's prosecution, will conduct an independent review of the facts and circumstances to determine whether the evidence warrants federal prosecution."
It seems that Congresswoman Barbara Lee, D-Oakland, is pushing for the DOJ to pile a federal prosecution on top of California's finding.
"I remain in close contact with the Department of Justice and will continue to work with them, the family and the community in the days ahead," she said in a statement.
Lee said she stands with Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums, the City Council and community leaders in supporting people who want to express themselves.
Express themselves how?...By rioting and looting ?!?
So let's make sure we have this straight...AG Holder believes that in the case of the NBPP voter intimidation, one not adjudicated nor pursued by the state in which the offense occurred, doen't rise to the level of federal action. Nothing to see here, just move along...
But, in the police shooting case, handled by the state relatively swiftly and where the now guilty party is awaiting sentancing? An OUTAGEOUS! MISCARRIAGE! OF JUSTICE WORTHY OF PURSUING.
And the rioting and looting? Well, that's just folks expressing themselves...
There must be some California cultural nuance I'm missing.
And, I guess this lends even more credibility to DOJ whistleblower J. Christian Adams' assertions. I wonder why all of the usual suspects aren't engaging in academy award winning performances of demonstrative public handwringing over the "politicization" of the DOJ? Oh yeah, that's right; their guy, their agenda, their political benefit, their desired result...No Problem!
California municipality enacts important regulation
Regarding, er, Ganja Brownies ? Admittedly, wealthy San Francisco may not be the primary cause of California's financial woes, and probably contributes to the tax base greatly. But, I'm pretty sure that they have better things to do than determine the necessary and proper rules governing the content, sale, and handling of pot brownies; but, like, I'm sure researching the project was a gas!
Still, you'd think that they'd be more worried about, oh, say, people who connive themselves a prescription, sell the weed to kids, and use the proceeds to supply themselves with harder drugs. Although, Mr. Obama's most recent recess appointment, Donald Berwick as director of CMS, may see it in his infinite wisdom, metaphysical certitude and absolute progressive moral authority to ensure that medicare/medicaid covers these prescriptions; you know, so that we can properly redistribute the weed wealth too. Or maybe the city could reconsider their status as a illegal alien sanctuary city. I'm just sayin'...
Now these regulations don't cover the guys selling these brownies in the park; the authorities will still be harshin' their mellow regardless of whether they conform to the regulations. That is, unless the voters pass proposition 19 and decriminalize the recreational use of marijuana; which they have essentially done with the current "medical" use laws.
But the eventual bummer ain't far away for the stoner set. Cash strapped cities like Long Beach, California, are looking to the weed for a whole new revenue stream; a plan that some fear will, ironically, fuel the illegal trade even more. Oh well, so much for the cheap and plentiful weed, Spicoli.

The Courts, the NYT, and Immigration

Spain vs. Netherlands
Shine, shine, the light of good works shine
The watch before the city gates depicted in their prime
That golden light all grimy now
Three hundred years have passed
The worthy Captain and his squad of troopers standing fast
The artist knew their faces well
The husbands of his lady friends
His creditors and councillors
In armour bright, the merchant men
Official moments of the guild
In poses keen from bygone days
The city fathers frozen there
Upon the canvas dark with age
The smell of paint, a flask of wine
And turn those faces all to me
The blunderbuss and halberd-shaft
And Dutch respectability
They make their entrance one by one
Defenders of that way of life
The redbrick home, the bourgeoisie
Guitar lessons for the wife
So many years we suffered here
Our country racked with Spanish wars
Now comes a chance to find ourselves
And quiet reigns behind our doors
We think about posterity again
And so the pride of little men
The burghers good and true
Still living through the painter's hand
Request you all to understand
When Bibi met Barry; a tale of two receptions
Boy, what a difference an election year makes, eh? And it's not only with respect to the usual chicken-in-every-pot demagoguish posturing, or the sudden embrace of a sense of fiscal awareness and responsibility by the same Congress that, in concert with "Diddy-Our Big Bucks-Obama", enacted both the nearly trillion dollar failed stimulus as well as increased discretionary spending by 125%; all while lacking the intestinal fortitude to, you know, do their job and actually enact a budget, owing to the legitimate fear of electoral repercussions due to the oceans of red ink. No, this year, in addition to the usual and cutomary cynicism and hypocrisy surrounding matters of domestic policy, there is a foreign policy component to the calculus as well.
President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet on Tuesday seeking to show they have turned the page on an unusually rocky period in relations between Washington and its close ally.
Visiting the White House for fence-mending talks, Netanyahu will get a warmer welcome than in March when Obama kept him at arms' length in what was widely viewed as a snub over settlement policy seen by Washington as an obstacle to a Palestinian state.
Obama is not likely to risk another diplomatic clash with Netanyahu with pivotal U.S. congressional elections looming in November and pro-Israel sentiment strong among American lawmakers and voters.
Carefully choreographing what some analysts have dubbed a "make-up" visit, Obama's aides have arranged press coverage at the end of the Oval Office talks, when every bit of body language is sure to be scrutinized. Afterward, the leaders will attend a White House luncheon.
I wish that I could take this report at face value, and believe that O!&Co are truly interested in patching their self-inflicted, and seemingly intentional, rift with the Israelis. In a perfect world, Mr. Obama would be conferring with PM Netanyahu over retaining their current geo-political balance, and concomitantly, that the US would be taking the lead in any military strikes on Iran; actions that, unfortunately, are looking increasingly imminent and necessary.
Unfortunately, I've witnessed too many actions that seem to be calculated rather than coincidental, and too many consequences that instead of being unintended are instead purposefully achieved. I've seen one too many crises exploited for cheap political advantage. And, while not placing me squarely amongst the tin-foil-hat-crew, I am a bit jaded because of the more breathtaking events we've all witnessed over the last 18 months; and I'm not talking about Obama's drives here.
No, behind this demonstrative reconciliation I see the urgent need to reclaim a part of the traditional Democratic electoral coalition that the progressives thought could be safely written off. It's no secret that part of Democrat's electoral victory margin in recent cycles was due to a large number of young voters, as well as an uncharacteristically high number of white male supporters. But, unsurprisingly, as the President's popularity has waned, so too has his large support cushion among these non-traditional Democrat voter groups. In fact, the Democrats are publicly hand wringing about what actions to take in order to "put the band back together, man!"-the coalition that supported them in 2006 and 2008; because otherwise they will perhaps suffer a more crushing defeat at the ballot box in November than has been speculated.
Nope, in my humble opinion, it's as plain as the nose on my face. The mid-summer strokage of the Israeli PM has more to do with wooing disillusioned Jewish voters, "back to the fold", than anything; it's to give the fightin' nutroots something to talk up to their Jewish allies. But, in an interesting twist posited by Cap'n Ed at Hot Air, will Obama also placate the Jooooooooo haterz too by demanding that Israel apologize to Turkey? Although there is less than a snowball's chance in sheol of that happening, it would certainly fit Obama's modus operandi by allowing him, once again, to try and vote "present".
Mortar fire hits U.S. embassy while Biden speaks of “progress”
Wow. He must have really put his foot in his mouth this time; no doubt it was another big effing deal! The left leaning MFM will surely have their undies in a bunch over this episode. I mean, they get righteously indignant when we just roll our eyes and groan at "Biden of Arabia's" pronouncements...
But, on the other hand, I'm sure this means he'll claim that all is well in Iraq these days, that O! can declare the combat mission officially over, and that he and "Fightin' Joe" have won the war!
Pretty good for a couple of putzes who never missed an opportunity to join in a full-throated lefty chorus of, "The War is Lost!", and who both considered the surge to be a failure.
Must be some nuance there that I'm not getting. Probably wrapped up in the old aphorism, "You can always tell a Harvard man, but, not much..."

Dumbass with PhD: Breasts Suck
I'm trying to understand Western society's breast fetish.
Dare I say it? They're not that attractive. They are fatty protrusions designed to nourish babies. Udders. Nozzles. Jugs. Cones. Sacks. Melons. Tennis balls. You get the picture.
Millions of years of evolution are just plain wrong. There's nothing particularly pleasing about the feminine form.
Our societal obsession with sex is a sign of neuroses. The idealization of the fertile female, created by Illuminati Hollywood, is primitive and pagan. Obviously, we have been conditioned to obsess on sex to distract us from deep politics, i.e. our freedom and welfare.
The idealization of the fertile female was created by Hollywood? Gee, Hollywood's been around a lot longer than I figured.

Politics, you know, is the be-all and end-all. Desire that's not directed at politics is useless. Everything else is a distraction.
In many cultures, breasts aren't sexual at all. For example, women in Mali go around with bare breasts. They're always feeding their babies. When they were told that in our culture men are fascinated with breasts, they burst out laughing. They laughed so hard, they fell on the floor. They said, "You mean, men act like babies?"
I'm sure that men in Mali don't regard breasts in the least!

Used for sexual vampirism and divorced from femininity and babies, breasts are weapons of war, not love.
They don't carry milk. They are filled with embalming fluid. We might as well launch them from catapults.
There is something decadent and senile about a society obsessed with titties.
You're wackthwackadoodle, dude. I bet you posted this sludge just to get into some feminist's pants, by proving how evolved you are. Or maybe, you're just not into women. NTTAWWT.
Sure, evolved people can go around considering other people as bipedal organisms that view the world stereoptically through flexible lenses affixed to the front of their "heads" and who nourish themselves by stuffing organic compounds into apertures located below their "eyes," but you ain't getting laid, douchebag.
