Beefcake Friday Volume IX
Yes..it's Eric again.....that will probably happen about once a month..cuz it's my pr0n room and I can. :0
Surprise!
Just a quick hit here.
I used to work for an answering service....and one of the business types we answered for were propane companies. (I sell propane and propane accessories) One Christmas Eve I got a call from a woman in Greenwich, CT who was all in a panic because she was out of propane for her gas logs in her fireplace. I explained to her that the office was closed and there were no deliveries on Christmas Eve except in extreme emergencies. She told me it WAS an emergency because she was having a Christmas party and 250 people were going to show up at her house and she wasn't able to use her fireplace. *faceplam*
I explained that even under regular circumstances, this company did not consider gas logs an emergency. She got very upset and said that we were ruining her Christmas party. I apologized...she got angry and hung up. Now it occurred to me while I talking to her and envisioning her head exploding because she couldn't use her fireplace, that she had to have seen this day coming. I mean Christmas Eve is the same date every year. And besides that, 250 people don't just show up at your house...you plan for them and invite them. So....wouldn't it have been prudent to make sure you had enough propane for your gas logs BEFORE Christmas Eve?
This is the way I feel about this debate about the "Bush Tax Cuts". Congress KNEW they were set to expire in January 2011. POTUS KNEW they were set to expire in January 2011. But they waited until December 2010 to even begin TALKING about doing something? Really? They didn't see this coming? They couldn't have started this debate say in April? Now they're all like...."it's not perfect but we have to do SOMETHING so we'll do something crappy." People...time management and prioritizing are important skills for McDonald's employees...certainly they are important on Capitol Hill. #justsayin
Beefcake Friday Volume VII
(Due to technical difficulties last night......BCF is late, but I killed a couple of gremlins and futzed with some widgets and things are back in working order.)
I went old school this week. It's a little heavy on the McQueen....but The Great Escape and Bullitt are two of my very favorite movies ever. So anyway, here ya go. :)
Enjoy.
Beefcake Friday, Volume VI
I know..you thought I'd skip it this week cuz it's a holiday. Pfffffft, Beefcake goes good with pie!
I present for your viewing pleasure...the Men of Grey's Anatomy!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Beefcake Friday Volume V
If I have to say anything other than Johnny Depp...then you are not my friend.
I am sooooo CONFUSED.
I feel ya Vinnie. So I am hoping that the Constitutional Law Professor currently occupying the Oval Office can explain to me how the "enhanced" TSA pat downs don't violate the 4th Amendment.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
How, exactly is the pat down of 3 year old child...who is screaming and begging you not to touch her reasonable? How is the fondling of people's "junk" reasonable? And doesn't the 4th Amendment require probable cause and not a random "hey you" before you can be searched? Why is it that the police can't just randomly wander into people's homes and say let me read your diary, but some weirdo working for a "government agency" can put their hands somewhere, that if anyone else did it, I'd shoot them with no other cause than you were number 6?
But I'm just a girl, and apparently too stupid to live because I don't vote Democrat, so I could be wrong.
Beefcake Friday Volume IV (Skyline Edition in Balfour’s Yard or as we now call it Sexy Camp)
So for those of you who follow me on twitter you know that I am A) an Eric Balfour Fangirl and 2) Have been waiting FOREVAH for Skyline to come out. For those of you who don't follow me on twitter.....why am I even talking to you?
So, about the movie....first let me say that people who bring babies to the movie theater are bad bad people and should have their fingernails removed while being forced to listen to Gwyneth Paltrow sing.
Now the movie...let me start with the few criticisms I have. 1) there are some seriously over the top chicks in this movie,(but then, what really fun Alien Invasion movie is complete without them, so maybe that gets a pass. :) ) B) the bit where Terry's car gets stomped would have been far more effective if we hadn't already seen it 97 times in a trailer, and 3) there is one place in the movie where 2 people should have been dead...for those of you who've seen it you know what I'm talking about and for those of you who haven't, you will know it when you see it, I promise.
Now on to the good stuff...and there's a lot. First Bravo and standing ovation to Eric Balfour(Jarrod) and Donald Faison(Terry) for turning in kick ass performances. There was no green screen and no tennis balls for markers they.....pretended....and very very well.
This movie was produced and shot for not a lot of money by Rogue Pictures and then distributed by Universal Studios. The cast and crew obviously had a great time making this movie and their dedication and imagination show. I'm hoping that when the DVD comes out....there's a blooper reel....because I know it HAS to be hysterical!!
Kudos to whoever wrote the "spy on people with the telescope during the party" scene....GENIUS and HElarious!!!!
The special effects in this movie are freakin' amazing! The alien ships are cool and have some cool abilities. Watching them ...um....well, do what they do was just gross enough to be fun but not nightmare inducing.
Eric and Donald play off each other like they have been in a hundred movies together and Scottie Thompson(Elaine) is wonderful as Jarrod's "could you please just grow up" girlfriend. She does a little growing and changing of her own and delivers a wonderfully emotional performance. Also....girlfriend kicks some ass!!!
For those of you expecting the "ha! Earth rocks!!" ending..well don't. I won't tell you what happens...cuz, well that would be mean....but it's not something you'll be expecting.
For my fellow Balfour's Yard inhabitants there is LOADS of (unintentional but there none the less) HAND pr0n!!!!! And now that I think about it... EYE pr0n too ...This however, isn't it...
I really can't say a whole lot more without giving stuff away and I don't want to get killed...so I will say I enjoyed the movie very much, even though Alien Invasions .......not really my thing, but Eric is and he's why I went and I'm glad I did. It was a fun ride and stuff blows up.....what else could you possibly need?
Oh, one other thing.....it is safe to take your older kids which in this day and age is hard to come by and a good thing.
I have one question for Eric.....dude what IS this fascination you seem to have with axes? :)
Also? Eric, if you could make your next movie a nice, safe, romantic comedy, ...my heart rate would appreciate it. Thanks ever so.
So now, in honor of the Skyline premiere...I present for your viewing pleasure......This Week's Beefcake Friday offering......Guess Who?
Beefcake Friday Volume III
Today's offering is from request I got from my friend Dawn. This is Lucas Bryant. He is a wonderfully talented actor and you should know him. He currently stars on SyFy's Haven and, if in your head you don't live in Haven, Maine and are not Afflicted, you will not understand the significance of the song (but it's Joan Jett, so just dance) or why this is the first Beefcake Friday video to include pics of a girl (but she's cute so just go with it) and if that is the case....Season 2 of Haven starts Summer 2011, and the Season 1 DVD is set to be released in the Spring.
Enjoy.
