California municipality enacts important regulation
Regarding, er, Ganja Brownies ? Admittedly, wealthy San Francisco may not be the primary cause of California's financial woes, and probably contributes to the tax base greatly. But, I'm pretty sure that they have better things to do than determine the necessary and proper rules governing the content, sale, and handling of pot brownies; but, like, I'm sure researching the project was a gas!
Still, you'd think that they'd be more worried about, oh, say, people who connive themselves a prescription, sell the weed to kids, and use the proceeds to supply themselves with harder drugs. Although, Mr. Obama's most recent recess appointment, Donald Berwick as director of CMS, may see it in his infinite wisdom, metaphysical certitude and absolute progressive moral authority to ensure that medicare/medicaid covers these prescriptions; you know, so that we can properly redistribute the weed wealth too. Or maybe the city could reconsider their status as a illegal alien sanctuary city. I'm just sayin'...
Now these regulations don't cover the guys selling these brownies in the park; the authorities will still be harshin' their mellow regardless of whether they conform to the regulations. That is, unless the voters pass proposition 19 and decriminalize the recreational use of marijuana; which they have essentially done with the current "medical" use laws.
But the eventual bummer ain't far away for the stoner set. Cash strapped cities like Long Beach, California, are looking to the weed for a whole new revenue stream; a plan that some fear will, ironically, fuel the illegal trade even more. Oh well, so much for the cheap and plentiful weed, Spicoli.
